About a third of the way through my first 700 g of piracetam.
Began with an attack dosage of ~8 g once in the morning. I was astonished at the focus and clarity of my creative ideas. Unfortunately I suffered insomnia, for the first time in my life, after the second dose. Although I took it in the morning, I was unable to sleep restfully the whole night.
Switched to a very consistant dosage of 4 g dispersed throughout the day and soon began to feel tired. Since I hadn't read anything about fatigue with piracetam, I read into it. The answer I found was choline: piracetam's supposed mechanism has to do with choline cycles, so I bought some liquid lecithin and choline bitartrate to have mixed sources of choline. However, symptoms of fatigue still persisted, so I read some more. This time I discovered pantothenic acid, vitamin B5, which your body synthsizes into coenzyme A. Coenzyme A helps to convert choline into aceytlcholine which is degraded into choline and acetate at nerve synapses. I'm not a chemist or biologist; I'm a musician, but I know that B5 gave me back my energy. Now I take 2-4 g of piracetam before breakfast and sometimes spread out with a dose before lunch.
Bottomline: piracetam + choline + pantothenic B5 + B multivitamin = stable and good results. (I Take B vitamins and choline with meals.) I have a much easier time learning new pieces of music; when I compose, my ideas synthesize more quickly, and I spend almost no time at all second guessing my ideas during the crucial brainstorming phase. As a recording engineer, I am much more focused and directed in all areas of my work.
I use acetyl L-Carnitine (ALCAR) too, and I find it to effect energy more than memory or cognitive function. Absorption seems to benefit from taking either ALCAR or piracetam on an empty stomach. I have tried making a morning soup of all the above ingredients, and the response was rather inconsistant. Experiencing the effects of the supplements one at a time is valuable to me. |
