Admittedly, my experience has been with a competitor's product but l_leucine should be l_leucine! My experience ALSO matches that of most here! Because of that, I just purchased it from here. This place offers twice as much for about the same price!
TASTE: What do you expect, it is supposed to be PURE! Ever taste PURE Vitamin B? FORGET IT! Frankly, I think the taste of pure l-leucine is ok.
MIXABILITY: leucine is hydrophobic, so pure leucine will NOT really mix in water. I just scoop it into my mouth, and drink water. You COULD probably mix it and QUICKLY drink it, or mix it with something having oil or fat, or put it on food. In studies, they put it in jello!
Dose: You are RIGHT! Teaspoon is VOLUME, and GRAM is MASS! The two do NOT have a direct correlation. Neither do Liter and Ounce. Somehow, people mixed them up and came up with pseudo standards. So 1tsp(volume)=5GM(mass) like 1LT(volume)=about 34 Ounce(mass). STUPID, but true. Anyway, I use about 1tsp for 5GM morning, BW, AW, night. So 20GM total.
Effectiveness: I went from no gains on a low carb diet to good gains. The only change was adding leucine.
BTW this has a LOT of studies to back it up, and leucine has been considered THE most important BCAA, etc... for DECADES |
