My trainer recommended that I get Waxy Maize, a high glycemic carb, for after my workout to mix with BCAA and some protein. The idea is to load the muscles with glucose immediately after a workout to replace the glycogen stores that were used up. The high glycemic carb also causes an insulin spike which helps transport nutrients into the muscles.
I've been using N-Large2 (1 half serving) which has 24 grams of protein and 42 grams of simple sugars mixed with 1 scoop of Waxy Maize (30 grams of carbs) and another scoop of whey protein (20 grams.) Sometimes I throw in some BCAAs.
When looking for Waxy Maize, I wanted good quality and cheap. 1Fast400 makes the cheapest around.
