Good stuff At my weight of 162lbs, I use it as a sleep aid and a general relaxant at around 1/8 a teaspoon, which equates to 315 mg, per dose. I take these doses on an empty stomach immediately after waking up and two hours before getting to bed. The empty stomach bit is key, as taking this along with food tends to produce more severe motor effects with virtually no effects on cognition or mood. I get about 8-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep with these doses.
Contrary to what's commonly found in literature regarding this substance, the daily doses I take haven't caused withdrawal symptoms upon ubrupt cessation, even after six months of continuous use. But my first experiences with this supplement did cause intense withdrawal symptoms, including increased general anxiety and poor sleep. The doses ranged from 1-2 grams 1-3 days per week. Such doses produced severe motor and cognitive impairment, along with a drunken euphoria. These affects are similar to alcohol, but with a longer half-life and a milder hangover(usually only residual motor impairment the next day). The low dose regimen allows me to occasionally up the dose to 2 grams for the aforementioned effects, but without the accompanying withdrawal.
If you decide to take this supplement, I strongly suggest, after having experimented with this supplement for over a year, that you begin with the lower doses.
