BN: Please get Relora, powdered Magnolia bark or Magnolia bark extract in bulk!
OK, a little revision for my last review. I'd give this 3 stars or so- I'm giving it a 4 on this review so it averages out to that. This is an effective product.
They (the supp-pimps, NOW isn't one of them) claim this stuff isn't sedative or habit-forming. I'd disagree- you will have some impairment if you take a dose that does anything. Not serious mind you, but it is 100x more effective as a sedative than a weight loss pill. If you look at positive reviews on diet-pill websites, you'll see most people are giving it good ratings because it makes them fall asleep. I use it to induce a nice relaxed sort of buzz, something I imagined benzos felt like, though for me benzos don't feel good, just make me slow and dampened. I take 4-6 capsules and I'm a very massy sort of bloke. One capsule didn't do anything discernable, but you definitely start noticing it if you take a few.
I'm going to try bulk magnolia extract, or get the powdered bark and make some myself. Magnolia is definitely effective, and comparing it with a straight 90% Magnolia Bark extract I'm quite sure it's all Magnolia.
Anything that feels good will be habit-forming. There's no way around that. I'm a bit skeptical, but there is some evidence which suggests that Magnolia bark (the active in Relora, etc) is not habit forming in lower animal models, which is definitely not the same as in humans- there are opiates which don't induce opiate addiction in even higher animal models, but do in humans. But it is good news! See:
