I take ~200mg at four sittings, giving me ~40MG four times a day of the active ingredient. In capsule form, I pair Bacopa with Piracetem, and have found the effects transforming. Piracetem does many things, and the article on this site concerning it is excellent (it's effects I attest are true), but the Bacopa gave a necessary component.
Bacopa--I've read--is the one of the few natural nootropics clinically shown to improve higher-cognitive functioning (phosphatylserine is another--get Serinaid powder here too). It's also reputed to be an anti-anxiety herb. Both are true, absolutely. I also think they're tied: you think better and handle information appropriately, less things will stress you out (remember "don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff"?). It's certainly not placebo in my case, and here's why.
Some people have genuine anxiety attacks which pass. Others have a certain tightness in their chest and an oppression in their soul that never bursts out in an attack, so constantly weighs them down. I am of the latter type. Beginning with this high dose of Bacopa, though, lifted a tremendous weight off of my shoulders. Also, my reading comprehension/visualization in dense Russian novels leaped up exponentially. Combined with Piracetem, or taken alone, I highly recommend a similar dose and use as I have. Remember with herbs: always on an empty stomach. |
