Guggul lipids lower cholesterol when taken daily for life. The new drug called "Zetia" works on the intestinal cholesterol inhibition process which was found in guggul lipids. It is known to block the absorbtion of cholesterol by the gut. This is guggul's major claim to fame. Yes, it does lower total cholesterol by about 11% when taken
daily for a lifetime. Anabolic effects? Not likely.
