I've been taking idebenone for several years. For me, it is definitely nootropic. As with most nootropics, the effects are subtle. It helps my overall focus and mental energy.
I find that idebenone will interfere with my sleep if I take too much late in the day. I take about 200 mg in the morning, and another 100 mg in the evening. If I take 200 mg in the evening, my sleep is troubled.
Measuring 100 mg or 200 mg is difficult unless you have a very tiny scoop. I do have such a scoop, which is about 1/32 tsp. You do NOT want to take 1/4 tsp. of this stuff, which would be a massive dose.
It is definitely not calming or sedating for me. I believe the other people who have reported otherwise... it's interesting that these things can have such different effects on different people.
As many other reviewers have noted, this is by far the least expensive idebenone source I have seen. |
