Xenadrine CarboCurb is a naturally safe and stimulant-free dietary
supplement that helps reduce carbohydrate absorption in the foods you
eat, and may also help reduce the amount of glucose derived from carbs
and protein.
In an effort to reduce body fat, many individuals have tried following
a low-carbohydrate diet. The problem is that it’s extremely difficult
to maintain a low-carbohydrate diet for a long time. That’s where
Xenadrine CarboCurb comes in. This product is a blend of four natural
ingredients: Northern white kidney bean extract (KBE), green tea leaf
extract, green coffee bean extract and chromium. These ingredients not
only help reduce the amount of potential carbohydrates absorbed by your
body, but also help limit the amount of carbs that turn into glucose,
and help burn body fat. Here’s how it works.
In animal research (which was presented at a scientific conference and
published as an abstract) Northern white kidney bean extract (KBE) was
shown to have the unique property of inhibiting or blocking the action
of the enzyme alpha mylase.SUP>1 This is the enzyme that would
normally break down starch into smaller carbohydrates that can be
absorbed. The concept is that if you absorb less carbohydrates, you’ll
lose weight. In fact, the weight loss properties of KGE were
demonstrated in a 12-week randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind
study.2 A supplement providing 200 mg of KBE resulted in significant
difference in weight reduction over the placebo group (7.7 pounds
versus 2.64 pounds). Body composition measurements showed that at least
85% of the weight reduction in the KBE group was fat loss. Xenadrine
also includes green tea extract, which has been demonstrated in a
randomized, placebo-controlled study to increase weight loss and burn
calories.3 Other research4 on green tea has shown similar results. With
regard to the green coffee bean extract in Xenadrine CarboCurb, it’s
the chlorogenic acid, not caffeine, that give it amazing benefits.
Specifically, human research has shown that chlorogenic acid in coffee
has the ability to reduce the amount of carbohydrates absorbed.5
Furthermore, animal research using isolated chlorogenic acid
demonstrated that this compound has the ability to reduce the amount of
glucose that can be created from metabolism of carbohydrates and
proteins.67 The potential benefit is that when the body is unable to
derive energy from these sources, it may draw upon stored sources of
energy (such as body fat) to help meet energy needs; although no
research has yet been done to demonstrate that green coffee extract
will have this effect in humans. Chromium carnosinate (CarnoChrom) is a
water-soluble, bioavailable, and biologically safe dipeptide-nutrient
compound. Carnosine, the natural dipeptide part of the compound is
abundant in human muscles and plays an important role as an antioxidant
and buffer, and mineral carrier. Chromium, of course, is a mineral
whose role in glucose regulation is well documented.
